I’m Dian, FYI

Hi! 你好! I’m Dianliang233 (电量). I currently live in Shanghai, China. My pronouns are she/they.

Name

People around here usually call me Dian. In English, 电量 technically means state of charge, but no one uses this term in day-to-day speech and people rather just imply it. When you say “my phone is at 20%”, you mean its battery’s state of charge is 20%. I promise you this sounds less nerdy in Chinese and Chinese speakers use this terminology daily.

What I do

I edit the Minecraft Wiki. I am an administrator on the English wiki, a global interface maintainer across all wikis, and an admin on the Literary Chinese wiki.

I like programming, which I didn’t start to learn until I joined the Minecraft Wiki and started tinkering around the UI using my personal CSS. Here’s my GitHub profile.

I’m mostly good at frontend and I’m currently working on interactive tools and calculators for the wiki. I was forced to learn the horrific language of Java to make a wiki lookup mod called Hey Wiki.

I am also an admin on Fandom Chinese Community Central, which is a wiki website (allegedly).

Languages

My native language is Chinese and I speak English fluently.
